What does BREXIT mean for food allergy sufferers?

Great Britain Flag as Piece of European Union CakeWith the announcement this week that Article 50 will be invoked in March 2017, what does the future hold for food allergy sufferers? Whist Britain remains a member of the EU, all food-related businesses still need to comply with the EU legislation.
So, for the next couple of years at least, we are safe in the knowledge that our packaged food will be clearly labelled, and that when we eat out, and we have the right to be informed of allergens. But this is one to watch. As the diagnosis and awareness of food allergies and intolerances increases, let’s not go backwards on the progress we have made.
